Hawkridge joins for an undisclosed fee from Worksop Town having previously featured for the likes of Solihull Moors, Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City to name a few.
The newest recruit was a huge fans favourite at Worksop, narrowly missing out on promotion to step 2 last season falling short in the play offs.
Both gaffers have been buzzing all day and Martin Ball had this to say: “Terry was always someone DT and myself spoke about as a possible signing, but in truth was always in a couple of years time, so when we were made aware of the opportunity we knew we would have to move fast to get it over the line. Tez is without doubt one of, if not the best talent in Nottinghamshire football in recent years and the clubs he has played for and career he has had shows that. Technically, he is the best player I have played with and I’m not sure many would disagree, it’s a huge statement of intent from the football club and is a sign of the direction of the club and where we want to be.”
“DT and myself want to thank The Chairman for backing us with this signing, it shows the belief he has in us as managers, and again shows the way he wants the club to go and how successful he wants us to be.”
“Welcome to the club Tez”
Owner and Chairman Lee Wood expressed his delight at securing the big signing: “I’m absolutely delighted to have secured a player of Terry's calibre. He’s a proven talent with experience and quality that will undoubtedly take our team to the next level. We’ve been looking to add someone who can bring experience, leadership and talent, and Terry fits that perfectly.”
“I feel this club is the ideal place for him to continue to grow and succeed. Not only does he bring invaluable experience, but he already has great relationships with several players in the squad, which will allow him to settle in seamlessly.”
“I can't wait to see him in a red and white shirt, contributing to our ambitions and helping us push forward. This is an exciting time for the club, and Terry’s arrival is another step in our journey to greater success.”
“I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone at Worksop Town for their support in getting this done so quickly. Special mention must also go to Operations Manager Zander Shayler and General Secretary Graham Laverick whose efforts have been invaluable in making this happen. Their dedication and attention to detail have played a huge role in getting everything over the line. It’s been a smooth and efficient process, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all their hard work.”
After completing the signing Hawkridge commented “I've been speaking with both the gaffers and the chairman over the course of today about bringing me to the club, and I'm absolutely buzzing that everything has been sorted so quickly. I couldn’t be more pleased to be here.
All I want to do is play football, enjoy the game, and win trophies, and I know I can achieve that here.”
“Talking with DT and Martin about the vision and the success they’re aiming for has been really exciting, and I’m ready to do everything I can to help the club reach those goals.”
“The squad here is strong, and I’m proud to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get started!”
We await confirmation from the FA as to whether Terry will be available for Saturday’s home match with Bourne Town.
