Rainworth Miners Welfare vs Eastwood CFC

Rainworth Miners Welfare vs Eastwood CFC

Zander Shayler20 Oct 2020 - 11:38

Another tough game for the RedBadgers this evening as we take on inform Rainworth.

A win tonight for Eastwood would be our fifth in a row and take us to fourth in the table ahead of a really tough run of games that see's us face all five of the sides currently above us in the table within the next three weeks.

But before that we have the tricky task of Rainworth who themselves have been in good form after openings losses against Belper United and Sherwood, the 'Wrens' have won their last five on the bounce a run that contains a penalty shoot FA Vase victory over Gedling and two clean sheets from their last three league games.

Callum McGarry and Ben Wallis both return to the sixteen tonight, Sam Meakin remains absent as he awaits a scan to find out the extent of his injury, everyone at the club would like to wish Sam the best and hope he'll be back with us soon. On a positive note, after fourty-five minutes on Saturday Jack Andrews could be set to start his first game since March 14th this evening. On Saturday we caught up with the gaffer and he had this to say about Jack's return;

"Jack's class, he's a good lad as well, its been a long road back for him but he's totally committed, the injury he suffered was a complete freak accident but he's been to every pre-season game and he comes to to training the lads love him, and its good to have him back. He's looking fit as well, he was fit before and i don't know what he's been doing but he looks even fitter and sharper its like having a new signing, its great to have him back."

Jepson also spoke about the front three gelling together; "Mooresy has had to wait for his chance he was on the bench for the opening two games but he's come in and done excellent, linked well with Kieran and Gaz and we're looking strong. Kieran's been excellent he works hard and sometimes it goes un-noticed but he puts a shift in and all three forwards a linking well which is great news for us and bad news for the opposition."
