Following much speculation the club can finally confirm that Aaron O’Connor will join Eastwood CFC for the upcoming season.

With over 200 professional appearances in the football league and over 200 career goals the newest recruit is sure to be a big hit with the supporters.

From playing for the likes of Luton Town, Mansfield Town and Scunthorpe United to scoring a play off winner for Newport County, the man has done it all, too many former clubs to list ‘OC’ was a man Ball & Thomas were always after; “OC optimises everything we want this football club and our teams to be about. He is the perfect role model for every player in the dressing room, the way he looks after himself, the way he trains, and how hard he works in games. There isn’t any I’ve seen that can finish better and his movement in and around the 18 yard box is frightening! In truth, we thought it was a long shot that we would be able to tempt him to this level of football having the career he has had so far, but luckily he has bought into what we are looking to achieve at Eastwood. He’s the final piece in our forward line and I can’t wait to see how well he links up with the other lads. I’m sure this type of signing will really make some noise and hopefully goes a long way to show what DT and myself are looking to build.”

No doubt a huge addition and the Forward feels he can bring plenty of goals, “It’s no secret that I’m really good friends with Daryll & Bally so after sitting down with them both in the off-season to discuss they’re plans for the squad and the club it ticked a lot of boxes for me. I have a really
Good relationship with Mr Claypole as well having worked with him previously, he is someone I have a lot of respect for so when I had a chat with him in regards to the direction he wants to take the club i felt this is the right opportunity to hopefully help the club kick on and bringing plenty of goals to the party week in week out.
I know a lot of the squad already so I’m really excited to get going and delighted to get this one over the line.”

Massive welcome OC!
