MATCH PREVIEW- Saturday 30th March 2024

Zander Shayler29 Mar - 18:23

In form Boston Town are tomorrow’s visitors to Coronation Park.

Martin Ball & Daryll Thomas side aim to finish the season strongly hoping to put an end to a six game winless run.

Boston Town have only lost twice in the league in 2024 keeping seven clean sheets from twelve matches. Only Loughborough Students, Sherwood Colliery and Newark & Sherwood United have picked up more points than the Poachers.

Boston who currently sit 10th in the league standings are just four points behind the Red Badgers a gap that could be narrowed tomorrow afternoon.

Thomas & Ball commented "Next season starts now, we will introduce a couple of promising youngsters to give them a taste of the step up in levels. Hopefully we can see a few new and old fans returning from Wednesday night.”

Player Watch: Lucas Dakin has netted three times in Town’s last two away games helping the side remain unbeaten on their travels since the end of the December.

Previous Meetings: The Red Badgers have never inflicted defeat on Boston from their five attempts, loosing three, the most recent contest did end level with Alex Troke completing his brace in the 93rd minute. The only two meetings at Coronation Park have both ended in victory for the away side with Jack Messom scoring a consolation goal in last seasons 2-1 defeat.

STAT ATTACK: Martin Ball & Daryll Thomas take charge of their 56th game tomorrow, during their tenure they have failed to go more than four home games without a game a win.

Squad Update: The gaffers face a defensive selection dilemma with Oliver Robinson suspended for two matches, Chris Robertson nursing a hamstring injury and Tom Maddison a doubt with a neck injury. On a positive note Jamie McGuire and Mahmoud Juma could feature alongside Under 16 graduates Owen Hayes, Toby Woodward and Finnley Commons. Jack Messom will also return to the side having missed the 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night (due to work commitments). Tyler Blake is set to make his 42nd appearance of the season tomorrow afternoon becoming the first player to appear 42 times in a season since Sam Meakin and Danny Hayes in 2018/2019.
