The Red Badgers returned to winning ways last Saturday when they hit Shirebrook Town for four without a reply. The win maintained Eastwood’s four point advantage over Bourne Town as we enter the final seven games of the season.
The Seasiders on the other hand have picked up impressive victories over Heanor & Bourne Town that have been backed up by wins over Ashby Ivanhoe and Harrowby United. Despite only loosing three of their eleven games in 2025, Town represent the second worst home record of the division only Shirebrook Town have taken less points and scored less goals on home soil than Skegness.
Previous meetings: In the reverse fixture in November Craig Westcarr’s 82nd minute strike was all that separated the two sides at Coronation Park as the Red Badgers earned their first ever with over Skegness Town in their seventh attempt. At the Vertigo stadium back to back 1-0 defeats in our first two visits were followed by a 2-2 draw last season where 93rd minute Declan Johnson strike rescued a point for the hosts.
Player Watch: Flying winger Rio Molyneaux has picked up twelve goals and ten assists in thirty-three appearances so far this campaign including a brace in the recent 3-0 win over Bourne. Goalkeeper Liam Flitton was in goal that day and has been part of the best defence outside of the top four teams in the division keeping eleven clean sheets this season, after making the switch from Sleaford Town in October.
Squad Update: Daniel Elliott and Lavell White look like they could be ruled out for the rest of the season with injuries whilst Declan Dunn and Aaron O’Connor are also a doubt for this weekend. Oliver Robinson is set to return with Finnley Commons also likely to be included for the first time since December. Toby Woodward and Alfie Flynn both impressed off the bench at Shirebrook and will both be pushing for a start this weekend. Tyler Blake’s two goals last Saturday leap frogged him into second on the all time scoring charts for the club with 46 goals however he still remains over seventy goals away from the leading marksman in Paddy Webb (121).
BOURNE TOWN FREE COACH travel, the first-team squad has generously agreed to cover the cost of supporters' travel to Bourne on March 22nd. There’s only a few spaces remaining.
Captain Aaron O’Connor said, “It’s a massive game, and we want as many fans as possible to make the trip. This is our way of thanking everyone for their support throughout the season. It’s a small gesture of appreciation, and we can’t wait to see you all at Bourne.”
