Martin Ball & Daryll Thomas have bolstered their defence with the addition of Phillip Watt.

The 6ft 5in central defender joins from step-four side Belper Town having recently surpassed 150 appearances for the Nailers.

Watt who was born in Rotherham started his senior football at Lincoln City. In May 2007, he was one of seven players offered a new contract by manager John Schofield, being offered a one-year deal. He made his debut for the club in their opening League Two game of the 2007-08 season, a 4–0 home defeat to Shrewsbury Town on 11 August 2007. He also appeared in an FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest later in the season. His three years with the League Two side included two loan spells at Grantham Town and one spell at Corby Town where he joined permanently in 2008 spending three years with the “Steelmen”.

Following his release from Corby, Grantham snapped him up on a permanent basis, Watt then moved on to Boston United, Coalville Town, Belper Town, Lincoln United, Frickley Athletic and Mickleover. Last summer Watt rejoined Belper for his second spell where the defender earned his 150th cap for the club.

Welcome to the club, Watty!
