Eastwood CFC are pleased to welcome Callum Chettle from Spalding United.

The 28-year-old midfielder has an impressive footballing CV having played for the likes of Peterborough United in League One, as well as National League experience with AFC Fylde. Chettle also lists Alfreton Town, Matlock Town, Boston United, Nuneaton Borough, Stamford and the aforementioned Spalding United amongst some of his former clubs.

Chettle spent his youth with Nottingham Forest, after leaving Nottingham Forest for Ilkeston at the age of 15 he moved up the divisions to join Nuneaton Town in July 2015, and then Peterborough United in January 2016. At Ilkeston Chettle became the youngest player to start a competitive game for the club when he made his debut at the age of 16. He entered the Football League when he joined Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee in January 2016 and signed a two and half year contract. Chettle went on to make eighteen appearances in League One before returning to non-league with AFC Fylde on loan before joining Alfreton on a permanent basis. A raft of high level non-league clubs followed over the course of six years, eventually ending up at Spalding United last summer.

Anyone that’s has played a half decent level knows Callum’s qualities he will hopefully bring so much needed goals from midfield for us in a really important last month of the season for us.”

Chairman Lee Wood shared his excitement about the signing of Callum Chettle, believing the move will bring a real boost to the team. "Callum is a player with a great pedigree," Wood said. We’re really excited to have him on board, and we’re hopeful he can make a big difference as we make the final push towards our goal. A big thanks to all behind the scenes at Spalding United for helping make this deal happen. We’re all looking forward to seeing ‘Chetts’ in action soon.”
