Eastwood continued their unbeaten away record in pre-season with a 3-2 victory over NCEFL aside AFC Mansfield.

Jepson made a host of changes from Tuesday’s win at Aylestone, first choice keeper Rathbone came back into the starting eleven alongside, Palmer, Boafo, Knight, Hollis, Holmes and Wallis.

The Red Badgers found themselves a goal behind at the break but a Kieran Knight brace and a Gaz Curtis strike sealed the win in an all round solid performance.

The gaffer had this to say on the win this afternoon....

“We are getting closer and closer to the first game of the season and today was a big test, thought we showed patience, professionalism and quality at the right times.”

“At half time we were 1-0 down but we are going to be in similar or worse position’s this season so calmness is key, we addressed the areas we could be better and second half we controlled the game.”

“Knighty (Kieren Knight) came back in today and worked really well with Mooresy (Moore ) & Gaz (Curtis), And looked a threat. I won’t tinker the team to keep people happy but I will choose a team I think is correct for each game.”

“With everything being said I must highlight the point that AFC Mansfield are a good team and will do well in the league above so hats off to the boys today.”

“I thought Jermaine Hollis was superb today, he is an example of how to conduct yourself and be successful, a truly good man and talented player.”

“All in all a good day and nice to see our supporters travel and get behind the lads.”
